Hope we can learn something from this tragedy. |

I did not know Gracie personally, but I know some of her family members. I saw those engagement pictures of hers and she was so happy and beautiful in them- who could have guess this end... My prayers are with the family and friends at this painful time. I hope that we all can learn something from this unfortunate tragedy and learn to appreciate the loved ones in our lives better b/cos this might be the last time we see or get to talk to them. When we are young, full of ambitions and aspirations we forget that tomorrow is not garanteed to us- so let's truely live like today is our last day on earth b/cos it might be for real. Peace y'all.

To the family
Faith can and will sustain you. I along with many others I will keep your family in prayer. I have had the opportunity to be touched by Dr. Otuwa (mother) in Pittsburgh and it is no surprise that the Otuwa children have blessed and touched so many other lives. We will continue to hold your family in prayer and close to God especially during those times in which you don't have the strength to uphold yourselves. Bless your hearts and may heaven smile upon you.

It deeply saddens me and I'm so sorry that your life was cut short. You accomplished so much but still had so much to live for - to look forward to. I didn't know you Gracie but I can see that you were/are a beautiful person (inside and out). Your inner beauty (brightly) shined/shines through. Gracie your an angel - take care of your loved ones. Jan you don't have to say goodbye because she will always be with you (she's still with you) and because you'll see her again. Always remember this. Gracie and Andre's families are in my prayers. May God be with you always.

Gracie was the first person to tell me about facebook. We were in the computer lab and she helped me create my page and was my first friend. When my fiance and I broke up, she sent me the most encouraging message. I will always remember that. THANKS GRACIE

Hey gracie so sad to hear that you are no longer with us. My prayers are with your family and Andre's. I remember back when I first met u on campus at The University of West Alabama. You were always smiling and giving us all something to laugh at. I guess all there is left to say that I hope your family finds peace and will find a way to carry on knowing that you are in a better place. God bless.

Reality check |
August 5, 2008 |
When I heard the news and saw the pics, my initial thought was "omg... not them...." The phrase "here today, gone tomorrow" has an all new and devastating meaning. I took Real Estate in the Spring with Gracie and Andre. Like others, I didn't really know either of them, but I remember that they were just so fun-loving and happy go lucky people! It is just amazing how you can see someone every week and then they are suddenly gone. I remember seeing Gracie and thinking how BEAUTIFUL she always looked. The loss of Gracie (and Andre) has overwhelmed me so much. It really goes to show how you should never take anything for granted, love life, and live regret free and to the fullest! You guys have touched the hearts of many and you will be missed!!!! Sending out nothing but LOVE!!!!!!!!!

Keeping the family in my prayers |
August 5, 2008 |
I didnt know Gracie but I know her sister.. and just like losing any member of the family or a friend is a hard thing to deal with. I will continue to pray for the Otuwas ,and Gracies friends, that they will make it through these hard times. At the end of the storm there is always a rainbow, and I beleive that things happen for a reason. She is in a better place with God now so lets rejoice and be glad in it.
